Your Affordable La Mesa, CA Orthodontist
Need braces and looking for an orthodontist in La Mesa near you? Trinity Family Dental provides orthodontic services as part of our multi-specialty practice. Our on-site orthodontist and dentists work closely together to help you reach your smile goals.
Trinity Family Dental’s board-certified orthodontist, Dr. May Tsoi, has extensive experience in treating patients of all ages. One way she helps her patients realize a better smile is through classic braces. These come in either metal or ceramic, depending on your preference.
Traditional braces are the best way to get complete results from orthodontic treatment. How long you need to wear braces depends on a few factors:
- How well you take care of them
- How complicated your case is
- Your unique anatomy
But in the majority of cases, treatment typically spans over the course of one to two years.
If you’re interested in a straighter smile without the look of metal braces, then you may be a candidate for ClearCorrect.
Dr. Shen oversees treatment with this orthodontic method. ClearCorrect straightens your teeth through a series of special trays that snap over your teeth. Each tray is clear, appears natural, and is removable, so you can take it out for eating or while brushing and flossing.
From the time you start ClearCorrect, your treatment could take 6 months, or 16. Every few weeks you’ll come in to see Dr. Shen for a checkup and perhaps a new tray. Each tray “upgrade” is a little different from the last so that your teeth slowly move into new positions.
ClearCorrect is the perfect solution for mild to moderate cases of orthodontic problems. If your case winds up being too complex for ClearCorrect to fix, that’s okay. Our orthodontist will find a solution.
Braces For Kids
At Trinity Family Dental, we suggest that kids come in by age 7 for their first orthodontic evaluation. Dr. Tsoi will do a complimentary consultation for every child that visits our office. It’s important for kids to have this check because it’s easier to detect and avoid big problems while they’re still young.
Phase I treatment may be necessary for some children. During this phase we can provide orthodontic intervention to head off potentially complex tooth alignment issues. Phase I treatment tends to limit (not eliminate) the treatment a child needs when he or she gets older.
Why Get Braces?
Straight teeth truly are the backbone of a healthy smile. Not only do they look nice, but being in proper alignment helps them to stay cleaner. They will also be easier for you to keep clean. As a result, you can lower your risk for getting cavities or gum disease.
The shape of your bite also impacts your oral health. Poorly aligned teeth that don’t close together comfortably can cause strain on your TMJ and/or excessive enamel wear.
You don’t have to be a kid to benefit from braces: we offer orthodontic treatment to patients of all ages. Because the service is available at our multi-specialty practice, it’s not only more convenient… it’s also more affordable! Book your consultation today.
